The Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society sponsors member shows and provides information on other exhibiting opportunities for artists in watermedia. Although you must be a member to enter our shows, everyone is welcome to come and see the exhibits, which are always free and open to the general public. February 1-29, 2012
Red or Read, the first member SCVWS exhibit for 2012, will be held at the popular Los Altos Library during the month of February. The Library has an excellent artwork display area and receives lots of foot traffic. Artists can paint something with a red theme (red dominance) or a reading theme and include a 30 word quote to accompany their artwork. All watermedia on paper or canvas is acceptable. So, get out your favorite book for inspiration or your large tube of red and get ready to celebrate February at the library.
NOTE: There is a size limitation of 24"x30" framed size or less than a total of 720 square inches framed.

Illustrating Children's Books
Free Panel Discussion
February 5, 2012, 1:00 - 2:30 pm
In conjunction with the Red or Read Show three successful author-illustrators of children's books will give an illuminating panel discussion. The authors are John Clapp, Thacher Hurd and Ashley Wolff. The discussion will be held in the Los Altos Library Meeting Room, 13 south San Antonio Road, Los Altos, CA. The event is free and open to the public.
