Artist's Statement

My roots go deep into the California soil. A descendant from coal miners that worked the hills of Contra Costa County which they homesteaded. I am the Fifth generation that has resided in the Bay Area. I take advantage of the wonderful soil here in San Jose. Through close observation of the plants in my garden and the need to preserve my gardening efforts, I turned to watercolor! My inspiration comes for the earth.
