Artist's Statement

I find the process of transforming a blank piece of paper into an expression of feeling fascinating. Watercolor, with its luminosity and vibrancy lends itself beautifully to achieving wonderful expressions of mood. The subject becomes secondary and a successful painting for me is one where the viewer sees the “mood” I have been trying to project. Even the most mundane subject can become a source of inspiration for a painting.

I  love bold, vibrant colors and also the challenge of watercolor as a medium.

Accidents are waiting to happen and often these “accidents” create unique and beautiful paintings. Every painting is therefore one of a kind. I find this thrilling and am always eager to begin a new painting.
