An Introduction to the Beyond the Obvious Workshop

An Introduction to the Beyond the Obvious Workshop

ATTENTION:  SPECIAL FEATURE; A PRESENTATION BY MIKE BAILEY

The purpose of this presentation is to introduce and summerize the Beyond the Obvious Workshop to new members and all who are interested.  The Beyond the Obvious workshop is an important workshop to all artists.  SCVWS is lucky to have the creator of Beyond the Obvious, (BTO), Mike Bailey,  living in our Bay Area and available to give this workshop each year.  This workshop is unique and unlike any other.  Most worshops are taken because you like an instructor's style and paintings and you would like to learn how to paint like them.   This workshop is not about learning to paint like someone else but about learning and applying the principles of artistry and the elements of design to your own style.

In an effort to dispell some of the fears of taking the BTO 10-week workshop, we have asked Mike Bailey to give a presentation talk and summarize what this workshop encompasses and its value to every artist.

Yes, BTO is challenging; yes, it can be overwhelming; but if you push through, you will have a truly rewarding experience.

Several of our members have taken this workshop many times. Some of those members will be present to give testimony of their experiences in this workshop.  Plan to attend.  This will be a fun-filled, enlightening experience about a workshop that will enhance your artistry "Beyond the Obvious."

Refreshments will be served.

  • Presentation:  September, 24, 2017
  • Time: 1:30 PM
  • Presentation Fee: Free
