Peaking
By Taryn Curiel

Juror's Comments: This has to go to this painting.  I loved it and was going to select it as my personal favorite, but it just fit the category so well, and I had to have Edinburgh.  But this has great sensitivity of line and gradations of color.  Beautiful job.

Escape From a Fractured World
By Kaaren Marquez

Juror's Comments: Masterful use of color and composition and control of medium.  I am familiar with this particular view of the Wei Wei Exhibit at Alcatraz and did my own painting from that same view, so I can say with authority this artist did a great job!

Rainy Edinburgh
By Caroline McClintic

Juror's Comments: I loved this painting when I saw it online. It has a classic composition with great use of darks and lights.  Well-organized and great execution. But when I saw it was Edinburgh where I used to live I had to choose it as something I would absolutely have on my walls at home.  It gave me the sense of being there.
