Clementine's Appeal
by Debbie Bakker

Juror's Comments: "The technical execution of this still life is amazing. The cut glass bowl sparkles and the fruit is touchable. The saturated colors of the fruit and tablecloth are so well done. Gorgeous."

Spring Brings Summer Rewards
by Karen O'Neill

Juror's Comments: " I selected this because it is a beautiful painting but also such a good use of wet on wet watercolor technique to create the wonderful strokes and colors in the vase painting. Really great work."

  Spring Comes to Four Corners
by Karen Druker

Juror’s Comments: “I love this just as an abstract composition, but the addition of the poem really makes this fit the theme of the show perfectly making it a wonderful addition."

It's been a long dreary Covid year
Zooming, isolated, masked from fear
We learned new ways, some baked bread
Some drank too much, to soothe the dread
Spring's arrived, with color, hope and cheer

Black Irises
by Linda Curtis

Juror’s Comments: “ It was hard to decide on first, second and third as all three of my top picks are so different in style.  But I selected this one because it shows tremendous skill, but can be seen two ways, as stunning beauty with a darker and even menacing edge.  The artist has managed to truly embrace realism in her art which extends beyond naturalism to provide an  underlying double-edged message.”

Leaf Thief
by Douglas Greer

Juror’s Comments: “ I just fell in love with this painting which is really the antithesis of the iris painting  It transported me to a magical spring forest. The colors and strong design and pattern element of the painting reminded me of rich renaissance tapestries   Irresistible.”

Taking a Joy Ride
by Nancy Ryan

Juror’s Comments: “ This whimsical imaginative painting is delightful. It leaves the viewer wondering what it’s all about.  The colors, composition and brushwork are just right, even the figures!   And it makes the best of the water color medium - could not have been captured in any other medium as well.  Love it.”

Path
by Helen Jones

Juror’s Comments: “ I love this landscape painting.  It has all the skill of watercolor landscape but the added edge of movement with the use of the diagonal shadows which lead you inevitably through the pathway to the focal point. Really beautifully executed and it shows the painter's passion for what could otherwise be boring and lackluster.”

Honorable Mention #2 ($100 + Terry Hill Book +$100 University Arts gift card)

Askance
by Kristi Miller

Juror’s Comments: “ Although this painting is abstract it is clearly abstracted from nature.  The calmness the painter has created from the composition and selection of color is perfectly executed to create a truly outstanding work of art.”

American Dreams
by Cheryl Feng

Juror’s Comments: “ I love this painting as it gives one a look inside an intimate scene.  The choice of colors is masterful and executive so unique.”
